"Yeah, I just happen to be human." she glanced around. "A person, actually. I am not part of People. People are stupid."

"Finally, someone agrees." Lena mumbled

"So, do you two no the way back to portland?"

Qwan was confused. "You're supposed to be stupid..." he said.

"Most of the general public is extremely stupid but in some cases. Apparently hers, they're mildly intelligent."

Violet rolled her eyes. "People are stupid. Only a person has the potential to be smart. Apperently, people can't see what causes the wormholes. Only further proof they're stupid."

"If you say so....."

"wormholes? Brakes in the fabric of the space-time continual!??!?"

"Can you see them? I thought perhaps aliens would be able to see them......I'm assuming you are an alie...and that your companion is most likely not from earth either...." she turned to the other girl. "can you see them?"

Qwan was obviously having one of his slow thinking moments, so he turned away from the two girls and started observing his surroundings.

"YOU CAN SEE ME?!?!? Okay, your human, yet you can see me. I've been seeing wormholes for the past three weeks and, I'M NOT THE ALIEN HERE!!!"

"Can you see who makes them? I saw them....since the day I turned thirteen, I've seen them. I see alot of things now......"

Qwan was licking the underside of a fern leaf, wondering what it tasted like.

"Qwan, I wouldn't eat that if I were you."

Violet jumped back. There, on the horizon, were three of the creatures. "There! " she pointed. "There they are!"

"Why not?" Qwan asked through a mouthful of fern.

"Poisonous."

Violet turned to them "You can't see the creatures? Am I mad?" she said, pointing the revolver at her head.

"What? Those things on the horizon, course I can see them!"

"No it isn't, it's just fine," he said, swallowing.

Violet held the revolver, barrel at her forehead. "Oh Cr*p.....I'm gonna die here...."

"QWAN! THAT'S PTERIS VITTATA!"

Violet got an overwhelming sense to pull the trigger........solve all your problems....

"HEY!" Lena said, leaning closer to Violet "Do you know how bad those things are for the enviroment?"

Qwan didn't hear Lena, nor would it have mattered, as he did not understnd scientific plant names. He was looking at the human girl. "Hey, what are you doing?"
