Aftermath of Many Years of Suffering (IMPROVED)

Layla bowed "Layla."

Daedalus took a deep breath "Yeah. I've never seen...soldiers...before..."

"Come on!" Blood called.
"SORRY!" he called back,"Listen, we'll have to talk later. See ya." Just before he left he turned around.
"What's your name, kid?"

Nakilon awkwardly pulled her hand back.
"Right...see ya."
Au tucked Coona in her bunk.
"Night, nitwit."
"Night, Au."
Au Revoir looked at Coona lovingly, and went to her bunk.

"Daedalus."

Layla poked Coona.

Hala slouched her way into the dorm.

((what...no Padma? please..I beg of you ....take Padma.....))

Dae blushed again.

Nakilon felt around foran empty bed, hearing a few surprised squeaks every now and then. She heard someone mumble, "Why is that blind chick even here...?"
She turned to the voice, grabbed them with one arm, and threw them to the other side of the dorm.
"That's why." She said.

Terrig climbed on a top bunk and Blood on the one below.
Terrig pulled out a booklight and a book, while Blood fell asleep.

Dae just pretended he was in his room with Layla and that everything was normal. Which didn't help.

Layla squeaked and hid under the covers.

Terrig studied his book while trying to ignore Blood's small grunts of pain. It was difficult, though.

Nakilon took the bunk of the girl she threw and fell asleep.

Dae snuck over to Terrig's bunk "Whatcha reading?" he whispered

Terrig jumped a little and sighed with relief. "It's an old Earth book someone gave me that they found in the relic. I've read it about a million times. It's called Starship Troopers. It was written around 1959 and it still seems so high tech and advanced. It's an incredible book."

Coona opened her eyes a bit, and looked around in the darkness and sighed. She was to frightened. She was going to be an escort of the most important people, and she didn't think she could do it, so she shuttered.

"I'm scared too." Layla said "Sorry. You're just my age...and you seem nice...And I can't sleep."

Dae sighed "I can't sleep. I've never been in a room with boys that's worked out well."

Coona looked over to Layla and nodded. "Thanks." She whispered. "it's good to know there's someone else my age."

Terrig smiled,"You still haven't told me your name."

"Hm. I thought I did, well, it's Daedalus."

Layla pulled her blankets around her "I'm scared."

Coona looked up to make sure Au was sleeping. When she tuned into her gentle snores, Coona snuck over to the lamb-girl. "I'm Coona." She whispered.

Terrig held out a hand. "Terrig."

"I'm Layla. I can tell by your name and tail that you're a raccoon."

Dae looked at Terrig questioningly.

Coona rubbed the back of her head and smiled. "That obvious, huh?"

Terrig looked confused. "Hand shake?"

"Yeah." Layla's ears twitched

"I was taught not to shake hands, it's unsafe for one of my intelligence to by harmed in any way."

Coona looked over to Nakilon. "...She's scary...we're going to have to travel with her, aren't we?"

Terrig had to stop himself from laughing. "What? There's nothing bad about a handshake."

Dae shook his head in a condescending way. "There are lots of people who want to kill me, I have no way of knowing if you're one of them or not.

Layla nodded slowly.

Terrig stopped smiling. "Well, you'll have to get rid of that theory soon. We'll be traveling together."

Coona looked around and smiled. "You know what. We'll be fine."

"I hope so." Layla said, smiling sheepishly. ((LOL!))

"That will give me time to figure out if you are trustworthy or not." Dae said "I can't always trust feelings." ((Heheh...))

Terrig shrugged. "Suit yourself. Why can't you get to sleep, Daedulus?"

Coona smiled. "I know we'll be ok. The people we'll be with are really strong. That's why Stella picked them! We have an important use, too, you know. That's why we're going. Stella has faith in us and so do-"
"Coona, get your little pathetic tail in your bed before I bark at you like a coon dog and scare you up a tree."
Coona looked down. "Y-yes Au...bye," she mumbled and went back to her bunk with her head low.
