LETS START BEFORE WILLOW DECIDES TO GO SPELUNKING IN THE EMPTY REGIONS OF MY CRANIAL CAVITY!

it mid afternoon, a pleasant day, a nice town. He smiled to himself that he'd been blessed so long. He tapped the code into a computer, an older model computer, and it chugged to life He scrutinized the screen, and turned back to his assistant, the Beautiful Miss Sakamotica. "I'd say seven days..." she said, eyeing her watch.

"no." he said, determination. "sooner rather than later."

Miss Sakamotica shrugged. "Your call captain. Not mine." It was meant as a joke, and he knew it. He turned away from his assistant and said a silent prayer for his family, for their dog, for the school. He was already resenting himself.

Lt. Lozrano approached from behind. "Good. So we can expect an hour?"
"yeah."

Willow knocked on the door to Miranda's house. She hardly knew any of Miranda's friends. She hoped this wouldn't be as awkward as she thought it would be.

Miranda was hanging up the last ribbon with Nathan when the doorbell rang. "Hey, Nathan?"
"Yeah?"
"I think that's Willow... could you get the door?"
"Sure..."

Nathan wandered toward Miranda's door, wondering why in heck she had invited Willow. He'd considered the Miranda's-being-cruel-and-inviting- my-crush angle, but no it seemed to improbable. He remembered her talking about being friends with Willow's parents.

Nevertheless, Nathan walked up to the door, And did one of those last minute freeze-and-chicken-out things. No, he couldn't do this. She had invited Willow to e cruel to him.. He ran for the door and opened it quickly, mumbling "HiWillowMiranda'sintheparlor."

"Okay, thanks." Willow smiled at him and walked over to Miranda. Willow leaned over and whispered in Miranda's ear "Who's that?"

" that's Nathan...you've met him before. He's been my friend since forever." Miranda said as she began to get out the chips.

"He's really cute!" Willow giggled "I never noticed before!"

Arabelle slowly walked up the sidewalk, and stood at the end of the walk up to Miranda's house... she took a deep breath. "uurg. Bellz, why are you so nervous? you are just going over to Miranda's house, for a party! you should be happy! why fuss? you're just acting silly and anxious because you don't get to go to Africa, arn't you? yeah. stupid reason, huh? well, let's put that behind you, and enjoy this." Arabelle said to herself. she knocked on the door.

"More?" Willow asked quizzically. Miranda's parties were never large. Well, not large in Willow's opinion...But this WAS the first time she had gotten to come to the official party so... "Who is it?"

Miranda ran for the door. It was hard to believe people were actually coming.

Nathan in the meantime was having a total panic attack. No he could not 'just hang with Willow.' it would not be 'really cool' if people started 'coupling up at this party'. He was pretty sure the answer to 'isn't that what the preps do?' would be no. Miranda thought it would be a good opportunity? He walked over to the punch, nervous as ever.

Willow snuck another glance at Nathan. She giggled, his clear embarrassment was so cute.

Oh god now she's laughing at me......thought Nathan. Things couldn't get much worse......

"Erm...Uhhm...So...uhh" Willow said, trying to start a comversation "So you're one of Miranda's friends.." STUPID! That was STUPID! What am I saying?! she laughed nervously "I mean..err...of course you are! Idf you weren't you wouldn't be here!" SO lame, Willow! Why are you so stupid! You can usually pull this off! MOUTH!? BRAIN!? Are you LISTENING to me?!??!?

"Yeah, I've known her since kindergarten, played spies with her every recess since then, played the X-men multiplayer game at her house every Thursday when my dad's to busy at the chemical lab to pick me up from school. Yeah,I'm her friend."


Nathan cursed himself for sounding mean.

"Oh...Yeah..That's...cool.." Willow said, paying more attention to her thoughts EEP! Does he not like me?! What'd I say?!

Gah disinterest! Not good! thought Nathan. "You're killing the conversation...."

"...You were bragging. That started it." Willow said efiantly wait...dad too busy at chemical lab? Was that really what he said?

"I was pointing out I was friends with Miranda and lamenting the fact you never seem to notice it."



Miranda leaned into the room. "GO NATHAN GO!" she said with a laugh.

Willow bust into a fit of giggles "What the-?"

"Miranda!" Nathan hissed. Miranda just giggled.
"I'm only causing you needless social awkwardness and shattering the illusion of cool and in controlness you never had!" Miranda leaned back out of the room.

Nathan looked back at Willow and shrugged. "Miranda's hoping people will couple up....something I'm not interested in." Nathan added quickly and unconvincingly.

"Oh." Willow tried not to sound disappointed.
